EXTENDED BIO:
Earl Wood AKA Zack Montez was introduced to EDM & House music a few years ago, and was instantly hooked to the expansive sonic depth that could be found in this musical genre along with all of the sub genres of electronic music. He loves the endless possibilities of creating electronic music and the community of love and kindness that it cultivates. Earl Wood wants to write and produce music that touches and moves people to their absolute core, as so much music has done to him in his lifetime.
EW started down his musical path in his early teens by learning guitar. He was instantly drawn towards writing melodies over chord progressions rather than learning solos and flashy guitar licks as so many budding guitarists do when they’re first starting out. After graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, California he played and recorded with several bands that allowed him to perform in some of the most iconic clubs in Hollywood such as the Whiskey A Go Go, The Viper Room and The Roxy Theatre. EW spent years playing guitar in bands while honing his writing skills on his own music in his spare time. He struck out on his own and released his first solo EP titled Songs From A Life that was released under his given name Zack Montez. After playing out extensively in support of his solo EP, EW felt he needed a break so he took some time away from music to concentrate on his design career and family. After almost a decade off from music the Earl Wood project was born after attending his first Coachella Music Festival and falling in love with all of the music at the Sahara tent. The rest is history.
